Pershing GTX116 with 3D printing technology

Pershing, a Ferretti Group brand, envisions the first sport-utility yacht as a livable cruiser on the sea. With the debut of its GTX116 at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2023, it has achieved its goal. The yacht cruises as a luxurious accommodation on the sea, defined by its sporty appearance, opulent modern interiors, and, for the first time, the use of 3D printing technology to create the sporty utility yacht’s ventilation grills and windshield visor.

The GTX116 comes in a shade of Montecarlo gray, specifically chosen as a reference to its Gran Turismo influences, and the hull was constructed at the Ferretti Group Plug and Mould facility. The 35-meter yacht, with a beam of over seven meters, is the result of a collaboration between the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari, the design firm headed by Fulvio De Simoni, and the Group’s Engineering Department.

Sport utility yacht with over five cabins on board

Pershing’s GTX116 features generous spaces that can accommodate up to 10 guests with its new five-cabin layout (plus three more cabins for five crew members). Upon entering, dark wood in the vertical elements and pale color tones on the ceilings define the interiors of Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design. Eucalyptus wood furnishings with a grain pattern to accentuate its chiaroscuro effect are found in the sport utility yacht’s living areas alongside the dark wood.

The main deck extends over two levels. The beach club emerges onto the first floor through an extended stern platform and a separate sundeck. On the second level, the cockpit awaits with its panoramic space and the main saloon that overlooks the water. A large living space in the saloon is furnished with armchairs and an L-shaped sofa. It is situated next to a sliding door that opens onto a terrace extending over the water.

Further aft, passengers will find the dining area, which can seat up to ten people. The galley is transformable, and the owner can decide whether they want to turn it into a bar counter or a show kitchen. The helm station is provided with dual entrances, where the windshield wraps around the entire breadth of the superstructure. Black leather upholstery and a carbon fiber pilot seat dominate the interior of the helm station, while ultrawide screens offer high-precision navigation to the pilot.

Moving to the lower deck, the stern garage can host a jet tender and jet ski, while a hidden crane can facilitate moving the watercraft in and out of the water. As for the rooms, the sport utility yacht has two double cabins, two twins, and a full-beam owner’s cabin, all with private bathrooms (there is also a sixth bathroom on the main stairway). Even the crew has their own quarters, complete with a pantry, a laundry, and three cabins.

Pershing GTX116 introduces sportbridge

Pershing GTX116 is introduced with a sportbridge, a deck of over 40 square meters partially covered by a hardtop and featuring a fully equipped bar area with seating built into the main structure. Fitting all components into an already-spacious sport utility yacht may be a challenge, but the design team still manages to place a triple waterjet propulsion system into the water vehicle’s engine room to provide more room for the garage and beach area.

For the specs buffs, Pershing’s GTX116 comes with a triple water jet propulsion system that can be paired with three MAN V12 2000 engines, each optionally rated at 2,000 mhp, for a top speed of 34 knots and a cruising speed of 29 knots. The standard engines are three MAN V12 1800 units rated at 1,800 mhp, and the yacht has a RINA Class Certificate for Pleasure Yachts.
