to celebrate the release of bao bao issey miyake’s new tote bag ‘misty moon’, french architect and designer emmanuelle moureaux has created ‘rainbow moiré’, a colorful installation which echoes the bag’s design. made of paper triangles of different colors, the decorations repeat the pattern of miyake’s piece.

in order to respond to the unique sense of translucency in the new collection, small triangular pieces are finely cut out from paper to create a delicate mesh of fine lines. by increasing the number of layers and applying shades of colors, moureaux has achieved a subtle three-dimensionality in his design.
