Lamborghini has introduced Revuelto, its first super sports car and High-Performance Electrified Vehicle with V12 hybrid plug-in. The car design of Revuelto pivots back to the DNA features of Lamborghini found in its V12 cars. Beyond the hallmarks, the design elements touch upon features that aerospace layouts lean on.

The vertically-opening scissor doors both recall Lamborghini V12 attributes while creating the personal identity of Revuelto. Out of this, the intentional styles that clad Revuelto evoke the nuances of aerospace design. The sculpted surfaces are surrounded by two lines that begin at the front. They continue to wrap around the cabin and engine before narrowing down to the hexagonal-shaped exhausts.

The shark-nose part of the monolithic carbon-fiber hood falls in sync with the headlamp clusters with Y-shaped running lights, a defining visual element of contemporary Lamborghini design. The side fins, which are placed behind the front wheel arches, direct airflow around the sides alongside the concavities of the doors.

The back of the Lamborghini Revuelto pays homage to the V12 series of the company. The Revuelto’s mechanical heart is highlighted by the totally exposed engine, which is visually connected to the double hexagonal exhaust surmounted by the geometrically shaped wing and framed by headlamp clusters with Y-shape light signatures.

The interior reflects the exterior’s all-new future design. The feature of the cockpit combines a balance between a digital and physical experience both in daily driving and on the track. The 8.4″ vertical touchscreen is housed in a carbon-fiber profile with a space-ship shape, positioned at the visual center of the interior.

With Revuelto, Lamborghini introduces an immersive shared driving experience where the driver and co-driver can simultaneously see the same information on the dashboard through the 12.3-inch digital display on the driver’s side and a 9.1-inch display on the passenger’s side. Revuelto is the first Lamborghini to use the ‘swipe’ function, which enables the driver and their co-pilot to switch between applications and pieces of information.

They can do so on the main display and the side screens by swiping the information and data from one screen to another as if the digital display were a smartphone. The three digital panels implement new features that allow the driver to completely focus on driving, just like in a race vehicle, and the design gives way for Lamborghini to remove the majority of the physical buttons, relying more on digital technology.

Lamborghini turns to carbon fiber for the groundwork of Revuelto and manufactures the super sports car using artisanal techniques in its Sant’Agata Bolognese facility. Lamborghini says that it has achieved its best weight-to-power ratio so far, thanks to the widespread use of carbon fiber, lightweight materials, and powerful engines.

In terms of performance, sportiness, and driving enjoyment, the Revuelto establishes a new paradigm drawn from its new architecture, creative design, high-efficiency aerodynamics, and novel carbon-frame concept. The combined power of a combustion engine, three electric motors, and a double-clutch gearbox—all of which make their premiere on a 12-cylinder Lamborghini—delivers an output of 1015 CV.

Stephan Winkelmann, Lamborghini Chairman and CEO, says that the new Revuelto is a milestone in the history of Lamborghini and an important pillar in the company’s electrification strategy. ‘It is a unique and innovative car but at the same time faithful to our DNA: the V12 is an iconic symbol of our super sports heritage and history,’ he says. ‘Revuelto was born to break the mold, combining a new 12-cylinder engine with hybrid technology, creating the perfect balance between delivering the emotion that our clients want with the necessity to reduce emissions.’
